FAQ's

How long have you been in the industry for?

As of 2023 it marks 15 years in the industry - first starting with makeup only and adding on hair to my services years later.  I absolutely love what I do and can't wait for another 15 more!

Do you have an assistant?

As an assistant, no. Assistants usually start by prepping the skin or cleaning brushes and anyone that knows we could tell you I'm a major perfectionist and a bit of a control freak so at this stage I don't have anyone working under my name however I do work with a lot of other wonderful artists and usually have them come help me on jobs, taking a few faces on so the timing is quicker. I can help recommend and put you in touch with a few and we can get a great team together.

I only want a natural look is it cheaper?

Unfortunately no, same as if you were to go to a restaurant that had a set menu and ate less. For me it is much simpler to have it all the same. Even if the makeup is quite minimal I still spend the time on skincare and making sure everything is perfect, same with hair. You'd actually be very surprised how long it takes to do a natural makeup too.

Can you work with hair or lash extensions?

Yes of course! I have to say I'm a little obsessed with clip in hair extensions for thickness and longevity and always happy to add them in. Please let me know in case we need to add extra time to the booking.

For lash extensions, if you are wanting them for the event, honestly theres no need as I'll put on individuals anyway. I also prefer the lashes I use over the look of lash extensions but thats personal preference. If you have a lash lift please note individuals can still be added but its a little tricky and may not be able to get as many on.

Do you charge for travel?

Yes travel fees are added on top of all bookings (unless you're around the corner from me) as this can take time out of my day to be doing another client, plus the insane cost of petrol too. Travel fees approximately $1 per km return from me in Illawong but this is a guide and can fluctuate with tolls etc.

How far in advance do I need to book?

I take on weddings/group bookings up to 18 months ahead and single clients within 3 months. Note that although I do get booked up quite far in advance, every day is different so even if the date is coming up close, don't hesitate to contact me in case I have availability.

Do you have an at home studio?

I am completely mobile and currently not taking clients in an at home studio..

All bookings will be done in the comfort of your own home or wherever you're getting ready.

I am based in Illawong in Sydney and can travel as far as you'll take me .

I've never had my makeup done and I'm a little nervous

Well you've come to the right artist! I assure you I will 100% listen to you!!

I am a perfectionist myself and very thorough with everything I do and happy to go through each and every detail of makeup to ensure you still feel comfortable in your own skin, whatever your style of makeup may be.

How do I book?

I take all my bookings via email (or sending a message through the contact me page of my website). I usually respond within 1-2 working days so if you haven't heard back from me please get in touch via social media or check your junk mail for the response.

I'm a mum of 2 and I dedicate time in the day to respond to you all so I do not take phone call bookings and only give out my mobile once booked and you can text me if there are any issues on the lead up to the event.

How can I prep for you coming?

For the set up I will need a chair for you to sit on and a table for products/tools for me to work off. Makeup is best with natural light so usually next to a window. I will also need a power point if doing hair. I can provide any of these if need be just let me know on booking.

Please have cleansed skin for makeup bookings (you can do normal skincare or leave it to me) and for hair bookings to have hair clean (washed the day before is usually best but I trust your judgement depending on the hair) and please no hot tools or products as this can affect the longevity of the style (hair dryer is fine)

Do you only do weddings?

I do hair and makeup for all occasions however weddings are my specialty and will always take priority.

For bigger groups, I end up doing makeup only for weddings due to timing and I can recommend other artists to come do hair.

Will my makeup last all day?

I do as best as I can and use long-wearing, luxury products to ensure the best longevity for the day. Makeup will soften overtime and lips will need to be reapplied and potentially powder. Then it comes down to skin type, weather and activity, face touching etc for the longevity. If your skin is oily and it's a humid day and you're dancing the night away and rubbing the sweat off your face, then chances are yes the makeup will start come off. For me personally, I take my lipstick and sometimes a concealer for a long day to touch up and its enough but everyone is different. As my makeup style is white natural I prefer to suggest adding any powder or concealer later on rather than "caking it on" from the beginning as it never sits the same on the skin.

Why is the bride more expensive?

So many factors which include, timing on the day for the most part, making sure everything is absolutely perfect but also note that for weddings I can be back and forth emailing for months on end, helping with advice in the meantime, wedding schedule, stay back on the day of the wedding to make sure everyone is good to go with touch ups or help in any way - honestly it should be a lot more than the $30 difference

Do I need to make a deposit and what happens if I cancel?

Yes I take 20% deposits to secure the booking, this includes single bookings as well as groups. Please note that unless a deposit has been made, the booking isn't in my calendar.

Deposits are non refundable and non transferrable.

Once you have secured a spot I start knocking back other clients for your booked spot which is why this is so important.

Cancelling your booking will result in losing the deposit. I also have a cancellation fee of 50% if cancelling within 48 hours of the booking time.

All payments are taken via bank transfer.

When do you require final payment?

For small bookings say 1-2 people, you can pay the remaining on the day when I'm there. Cash is fine but bank transfer is preferred. For group bookings or weddings more than 4 people payment is to be made 3 days prior to the date.

As you can imagine nothing is worse than having to follow up on payment so as I leave you, payment should already be made.
